Scaling Elasticsearch Horizontally
Talk

10:00h – 10:25h, Hörsaal 13 (Talks)

The search server Elasticsearch with its NoSQL-based has horizontal scaling capabilities built in: See https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/guide/current/_scale_horizontally.html

Based on Arch Linux ARM and the configuration management/remote execution framework SaltStack this talk is a challenge to reproduce the 3-node replica/shard setup as in figure 5 in a live-coding demo.

This is meant as a playful attack on oldfashioned legacy database monsters and to showcase open source power. How to cope with the data flood in current softwar solutions? Easily with Linux and other Open Source Software!

Providing a log of every command this talk shall be reproducible by everybody. It will be supported through GitHub issues for the next weeks to come.
